Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control standards
- Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
Experience
- Prior experience working in residential care homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care techniques
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous
- Long-term care or home & community care experience enhances your ability to deliver personalized support
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks required for resident mobility assistance
