What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe position at Carient Heart & Vascular?
The Medical Scribe plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real time. Working alongside the physician, the scribe ensures accurate, complete, and timely charting within the electronic health record (EHR) system. This role enhances clinical efficiency and allows providers to focus more directly on patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately and efficiently document patient visits and procedures as dictated by the provider.
Record patient history, physical exam findings, diagnoses, procedures, treatment plans.
Navigate the EHR system to enter orders, results, and other clinical data as directed.
Ensure all documentation is completed promptly, accurately, and in complains with organizational and regulatory regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Travel to multiple office locations where the provider is scheduled to see patients and/or perform procedures.
Serve as a liaison communicating messages between the provider and patient, whether in written form in a patient portal message, or via phone call.
Chart abstraction and prep for all patient encounters, ensuring the provider has all information necessary for each appointment type.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in healthcare or life sciences preferred.
Previous experience as a medical scribe, medical assistant, or similar role preferred.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with EHR systems, NextGen preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with attention to detail.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Must have reliable transportation to travel between office locations
