Job Title: Plant Maintenance Manager Department: Maintenance

❏ JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the maintenance of all Brewery and Services plant and equipment which includes steam boilers, steam mains and condensate return systems, air compressors and related piping, carbon dioxide distribution systems, brewery plant and equipment and water distribution systems.
Performs duties with regards to the implementation and management of Preventative
Maintenance System (COGZ)
Oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the planning and execution which involves the following -:
- Analysis planning and scheduling of all routine maintenance, shutdown and overhaul jobs.
- Prepares and applies standard procedures for special overhauls and repairs.
- Assists maintenance field personnel in the operation and administration of an effective preventive/predictive maintenance program.
- Establishes equipment records and advises on corrective measures required to improve reliability of equipment.
- Carries out an effective equipment condition-monitoring program.
❏ INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
Relates internally with all personnel at the supervisory and management level and with all staff in the maintenance department.
Liaises with personnel in all departments throughout the company as well as stores, purchasing, and plant inspectors
❑ EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
Relates externally with contractors, vendors and government inspectors, suppliers of goods and services.

❏ PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1. Maintains an overall schedule covering preventive maintenance as well as repair jobs requested on Work Orders. In consultation with field personnel prepares weekly forecast of all jobs. Ensures that all operating equipment are regularly maintained and in serveable condition including scheduling needed repair work so as to minimize interference with production and to ensure that the Production Dept meets projected schedules.
2. Prepare estimates, budgetary control program and plans major maintenance jobs as requested on a regular basis.
3. Monitors the progress of all maintenance jobs and co-ordinates all activities between operations and maintenance at overhaul.
4. Track, analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, work order compliance, schedule compliance and redo jobs
5. Establishes and maintains equipment data files and equipment repair history for all equipment.
6. Continuously analyze repair history files and recommend improvements in maintenance procedures and practices.
7. Participate in the selection of new equipment and in designing and implementation of new projects
8. Make recommendations to Senior Management on capital expenditure projects, for inclusion in company’s annual business plan and to develop and administer annual departmental budget
9. Ensure that all work performed has met required technical specifications and requirements
10. Responsible for establishing a detailed program of periodic inspections of plant equipment and maintaining complete and accurate records of the results of all inspections according to equipment numbers
11. Responsible for keeping records of all safety, and relief valve and rupture discs including type, make, rating, set pressure, date last tested and results of all tests including details of all maintenance performed
12. Maintain all plant utilities including water, carbon dioxide, electricity, and air systems
13. Ensure that all statutory inspections and tests on safety and relief valves, boilers, pressure vessels and air receivers are performed according to the frequency specified by law
14. Responsible for monitoring vibrations of rotating equipment on a regular basis with a view to early detection of deviations which could indicate damage or incipient failure
15. Responsible for preparing and issuing reports to all relevant parties detailing the results of inspections with recommendations for repairs, modifications or replacements as may be necessary

16. Directs and controls the work of subordinates and appraises the performance of same, recommends training and development programs for subordinate staff
17. Performs any other related duties as assigned
18. Plans and ensures an adequate supply of and control over spare parts and other maintenance supplies
19. Develops and maintains a culture of safety awareness and safe work practices among subordinate team members and ensure that the work environment is hazard free and that personal protective equipment is always available
❏ QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least five (5) years’ experience in food processing or manufacturing environment
- At least three (3) years’ supervisory experience
❏ KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- Good analytical skills and ability to interpret complex information, troubleshoot, and provide effective solutions
