IT Team Lead (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Remote with some travel to Madison WI (onsite)

Summary

Carex is partnering with a Financial Services partner to find an experienced Team Lead for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in modern cloud-based development, microservices architecture, and enterprise-scale application design. The Lead Developer will play a key role in building, integrating, and optimizing scalable solutions using Azure, Node.js, React, and other cutting-edge technologies to support business-critical initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using modern frameworks and best practices across both front-end and back-end systems.
• Architect and implement microservices solutions using Azure PaaS components.
• Develop and support RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration across systems and applications.
• Lead efforts in cloud-based infrastructure development, focusing on Azure environments.
• Utilize modern JavaScript frameworks—including Node.js, React, Redux, and TypeScript—to build and enhance browser-based applications.
• Apply CI/CD best practices using tools such as Azure DevOps and Pipelines to streamline deployment and delivery processes.
• Support and optimize SQL Server (2016 and above) database solutions and related integrations.
• Apply secure coding best practices to protect applications and data, with familiarity in Veracode considered a plus.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance; familiarity with Dynatrace for monitoring and alerting is beneficial.
• Collaborate closely with architects, analysts, and product owners to define requirements and deliver robust, maintainable solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• 10 years of professional experience in software development roles.
• 7 years of combined experience in:
• Cloud-based infrastructure (Azure strongly preferred)
• Microservices architecture and Azure PaaS solutions
• Node.js, React, Redux, and TypeScript for browser-based development (required)
• .NET Core and C# development (preferred but secondary)
• Reactive Native, Swift, or Android SDK for mobile development (nice to have)
• Proven experience developing and maintaining RESTful API services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server (2016 or later).
• Experience implementing CI/CD workflows and automation.
• Understanding of secure coding principles and familiarity with tools such as Veracode.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, agile environment.
