We’re looking for a dedicated Funeral Director to join our team. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing company and make a meaningful impact on the families we serve.
Duties
- Coordinate and conduct funeral or memorial services, family views including preparation and presentation of the deceased.
- Work closely with families to plan personalized memorial services, ensuring all details are addressed.
- Provide bereavement support to families, offering guidance and resources during their time of grief.
- Manage administrative tasks such as filing necessary paperwork, obtaining permits, and maintaining records in a timely manner online.
- Oversee transportation arrangements for the deceased and family members.
- Help with pre-need sales
Skills
- Comfortable with computers - we do mostly everything online.
- Pre-need License
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on providing bereavement support to families in need.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with grieving families online, over the phone or in person.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs to help with lifting as required when handling caskets or assisting with transport.
- Experience in sales to promote services offered by the funeral home.
- Proficiency in event planning to ensure seamless execution of memorial services.
- Understanding of funeral directing practices and legal requirements within the industry.
- Valid Driver’s License (clean driving record)
- Licensed Funeral Director in Virginia, Maryland and/or Washington, DC
- 2 years of relevant experience (preferred)
- Strong communication & customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
