Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Florissant, MO. The ideal candidate will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing excellent care to our animal patients. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and treatments.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff.
• Monitor and record vital signs and behavior of animals.
• Clean and sterilize instruments, cages, and work areas.
• Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals before, during, and after procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with appointment scheduling.
• Educate pet owners on basic animal care and post-treatment instructions.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of animal handling and basic veterinary procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners.
