JOB TITLE: Medical Receptionist, Medical Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Primary Care
STATUS: Full time Per Diem
LOCATION: 501 Route 208 Monroe NY 10950
REPORTS TO: Practice Site Manager/Office Manager
SHIFT/CORE HOURS: Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00A.M.-7:00 P.M. Rotating Weekends, 8:45 AM start with a respective 4-8 hour day.
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, greeting and checking in all patients for their appointments, including paperwork for patients to fill out, scanning insurance cards and photo ids, entering all demographic information into the EMR systems, scheduling appointments, checking company emails and handling faxes, scanning all documents into patients chart and for staff as needed, and working closely with all physicians and staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets and directs all patients within the practice
- Obtaining patient demographic and verifying insurance information at each visit.
- Obtaining necessary patient information to meet current Federal guidelines and Meaningful Use guidelines for electronic medical records.
- Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including patient authorizations, recent labs delivered by patient, etc.
- Obtaining patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance).
- Schedules any necessary appointments after completion of patient visit.
- Verify Patients insurance and confirm patient appointments for next day.
- Assists in receiving and stocking of office supplies.
- Maintaining cleanliness of waiting room.
- Assists other Medical Receptionists as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a High School diploma; Associates Degree preferred.
- At least one year relevant experience and/or training.
- EMR experience preferred
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.
- Able to work collectively with administration and staff.
Carestier Healthcare is seeking a part-time/ per-diem Clinical Medical Assistant to join our friendly and patient-focused primary care team. - A medical assistant who can also work/train for front desk.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs (triage patients), medical histories, and assisting with patient intake.
-Perform routine laboratory tests (venipuncture), specimen collections as directed by the physician.
- Perform EKG's, nasal swabs, etc...
-Respond to patient inquiries and follow up on test results and treatment plans
-Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and clean examination rooms.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and office policies.
Qualifications:
Medical office experience a must, Clinical and phlebotomy experience preferred
The ideal candidate must have the ability to multitask, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and handle a high volume of patients, with compassion and empathy.
Minimum experience required as MA: 1 year
Proficient in Vital signs: Required 1 year
Phlebotomy experience Required 1 year
Receptionist experience: Required 1 year
