What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Pharmacy Technician position at Carepoint Pharmacy?
Position Responsibilities
• Patient Care Specialists rotate weekly between customer service calls and processing prescriptions.
- Respond to 75 incoming calls daily from patients, doctors and insurance representatives on issues related to benefit eligibility questions and prescription status inquiries.
- Process 210 prescriptions daily.
• Ask appropriate questions and listen actively while documenting required information in computer systems.
• Identify issues and communicate solutions and steps to patients, Insurance representatives and physicians with prescription orders and reorders.
• Validate patient complaints.
• Learn and understand each Carepoint program to properly process.
• Ability to verify that information on the prescription is entered in the system accurately.
• Effectively follow workflow procedures with an in-depth understanding of each department for day-to-day coordination and processing of patient medication orders; manages own responsibilities.
• Seek opportunities to expand clinical, technical and insurance knowledge, leveraging available tools and training resources, to develop the basic drug understanding and technical expertise needed to assist patients accurately and more effectively.
• Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
Requirements
•IL Pharmacy Technician License in good standing: Required.
•Certification: (PTCB, ExCPT or Grandfathered): upon hire.
• Experience in retail pharmacy, data entry, processing insurance, prior authorization and adjudication preferred.
• Required to work a rotating schedule M-F 7am-7pm.
• Work one Saturday a month, 7am -3pm.
