CareGuide is seeking to fill a full time Member Advocate to assist members with navigating the complex healthcare system. This hybrid position will be based out of Dallas and the surrounding area. Included training program will provide knowledge and expertise in medical terminology, negotiations, and prescription assistance. In addition, CareGuide values its employees and offers a generous benefits package, and a starting salary range of $55,000-$60,000. Candidates must be willing to work in-office at least 2 day per week.
Medical Secretary/Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Records Specialist, Patient Service Representative, Medical Transcriptionist, Medical Billers and bi-lingual candidates encouraged to apply.
- Provide strong customer service over the phone to a variety of providers and members
- Hold a caseload and provide support to members through appointment scheduling, locating affordable services/providers, and assisting with forms
- Investigate member medical and billing concerns, as needed
- Review medical bills, which may result in negotiating and settling claims
- Explore and provide guidance for affordable prescription assistance
- Guide members through filling out important medical documents for Financial Assistance
- Gather and examine patient information to determine eligibility for financial assistance
- Record, review, and take steps to follow-up on and resolve patient complaints
- Create and maintain record keeping files and systems
- Maintain timely communication with members for status of their case, while establishing a trusted relationship
- Comply with HIPAA industry standards/regulations
- Work on special projects as assigned
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements

- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 2-3 years related experience, including medical terminology knowledge
- Excellent communication and customer services skills, both written and verbal
- 1-2 years’ experience working with multi-line phone system
- Strong technical and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software programs
- Experience with medical claims preferred
