This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may be flexible based on departmental needs.
Overtime expectations
Overtime may be required as needed to meet departmental deadlines or operational requirements.
Work Environment
This role is performed primarily in an office setting. The position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and engaging in phone and electronic communication. The work environment is generally quiet to moderate in noise level.
Travel Requirements
No travel is required for this position.
On-Call Responsibilities
This position does not have on-call responsibilities.
Special Conditions Or Requirements
Must maintain all required job-related certifications and complete assigned training and development activities as directed.
Expected to participate in continued education opportunities to stay current with billing practices, compliance standards, and CareFlite procedures.
Must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability for assigned tasks.
Expected to manage time effectively and meet established deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to CareFlite’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
Regular attendance and consistent adherence to scheduled work hours are essential to the role.

Job Description
Position Summary:
- Conduct pre-billing audits of PCRs to ensure accurate and complete billing information for submission to CareFlite’s billing company.
- Perform daily PCR reconciliation to confirm proper documentation for every call, including completed transports, AMAs, public assists, and DOAs.
- Verify and ensure compliance with Physician Certification Statements (PCS), including mailing letters to facilities for missing or invalid PCSs and uploading forms to CareFlite’s billing platform.
- Ensure all necessary billing documents for ground claims are properly completed, indexed, and available for coding.
- Track and follow-up on incomplete or missing documents and provide necessary reporting.
- Continuously enhance knowledge by engaging with industry contacts, reviewing relevant literature, and utilizing educational resources.
- Work directly with the contracted billing company to ensure accurate billing and timely follow-up.
- Maintain ethical, courteous, and professional behavior, reflecting CareFlite’s values.
