What are the responsibilities and job description for the Category Planner position at CAREERXCHANGE®, Inc.?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Category Planner to support the growth and performance of our Beauty category. This role is responsible for inventory planning, sales analysis, forecasting, assortment management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure optimal product availability and category performance.
This is a hybrid position based in the Miami area, working Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and customer demand to support category growth strategies
- Develop and maintain forecasting, replenishment, and inventory plans for Beauty products
- Partner with merchandising, purchasing, marketing, and supply chain teams to optimize assortment and product availability
- Monitor product performance, identify opportunities, and recommend action plans to improve category results
- Support promotional planning and seasonal product launches
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and business insights for leadership review
- Ensure inventory targets, service levels, and financial goals are achieved
- Track market trends, competitive activity, and consumer behavior within the beauty industry
- Assist with vendor communication and product lifecycle management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or related field preferred
- 3 years of experience in category planning, merchandise planning in a fast moving consumer goods, preferably travel retail.
- Beauty, cosmetics, skincare, or consumer goods industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience with ERP systems, forecasting tools, or retail planning software preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Schedule & Work Environment
- Monday – Friday

- Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days remote
