Join our team as a Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) on 2nd shift in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet the highest standards for food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
This full-time position (1 PM – 9 PM) includes a shift differential. We are seeking detail-oriented individuals with a strong understanding of food safety systems, quality inspections, and documentation practices in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
•Perform in-process and finished product inspections to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
•Monitor and document Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Preventive Controls in accordance with HACCP plans
•Conduct pre-operational inspections to verify sanitation and food safety readiness
•Accurately complete quality records, logs, and production documentation to support audit requirements
•Verify compliance with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and company food safety policies
•Identify and document non-conforming product or processes, and escalate issues as needed
•Conduct and verify metal detection checks to ensure product safety
•Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality deviations
•Support SQF, FDA, and customer audit preparation and compliance activities
•Collect product samples and assist with testing and environmental monitoring programs
•Communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally with production and leadership teams
Qualifications
•Previous experience in quality assurance or food safety within a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred
•Working knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and food safety regulations
•Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation
•Ability to identify deviations and follow established procedures for escalation
•Comfortable working on the production floor in a fast-paced environment
•Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
•Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation systems
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience with SQF-certified facilities
•Familiarity with food safety audits and regulatory inspections
Schedule
2nd Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (or until production is complete)
