Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems. This role ensures equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and adherence to all safety standards. The technician troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and building systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Inspect and diagnose issues using technical manuals, diagrams, and testing equipment.
- Complete work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Communicate with vendors to outsource materials needed to perform repairs
- Maintain tools, parts inventory, and maintenance supplies.
- Install, adjust, and test machinery or production equipment as needed.
- Assist in major repairs, equipment upgrades, and facility projects.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Document all repairs, findings, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with production and operations personnel to identify maintenance needs.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Technical or vocational training preferred along with license or certification
- Minimum 2-3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or facility environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to ready blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Basic computer skills for work order and maintenance software
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces
Working Conditions:
- Cold, wet, refrigerated production environment.
- Exposure to raw meat, sharp tools, and machinery.
Schedule and Compensation:
Job Type: Full-Time (weekends may be required)
