Director of Regulatory
This position will oversee our Regulatory and Labeling teams while ensuring compliance with global food regulations. You will serve as the company’s primary regulatory authority, representing Client company with customers, partners, and federal agencies – all while advancing programs that support our culture of food safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Duties:
Develop and direct corporate regulatory programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with company goals.
- Lead the Regulatory and Labeling Departments, overseeing all labeling functions, product certifications, and regulatory document control.
- Lead and develop the related regulatory and labeling staff include day-to-day operations, training, performance and all related staff management responsibilities.
- Monitor and communicate changing regulations from the FDA, USDA, FSMA, and international bodies – proactively adjusting internal practices.
- Oversee compliance with Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO Project Verification and Gluten-Free programs.
- Represent Client company in regulatory interactions with customers and government agencies, lead crisis management for product recalls or withdrawals.
- Support and train internal departments (Sales, R&D, QA, Operations, etc.) on regulatory updates and best practices.
- Provide executive-level reporting on regulatory strategies, departmental goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage departmental budgeting, performance tracking, and technology systems including IFS, Optiva, Genesis (Trustwell), and more.
Salary
$150,000 - $180,000

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related discipline required; Master’s in Food Science or Business preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of regulatory management experience in the food industry with GFSI certification experience.
- Extensive knowledge of FDA, USDA/FSIS, Health Canada, and international food regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills – comfortable presenting to senior leaders and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to drive change through cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong software proficiency in regulatory and ERP systems; experience with Genesis, Optiva, and workflow tools preferred.
- Active involvement in food industry professional associations is strongly encouraged.
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
