Role Description The Intellectual Property Law Litigation Paralegal is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role supports attorneys in IP litigation by preparing and organizing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and exhibits. Daily tasks include conducting legal research related to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and related litigation issues, as well as reviewing and managing case documents and evidence. The paralegal will assist with case file maintenance, docketing deadlines, coordinating with clients and third parties, and preparing materials for hearings, depositions, and trial. The role requires close collaboration with attorneys, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in legal document preparation, including drafting and formatting litigation-related documents.
- Experience with document review, case file management, and organizing evidence and exhibits.
- Proficiency in legal research, particularly in intellectual property and litigation matters.
- Ability to prepare and manage pleadings and motions in state and federal courts.
- Prior experience as a litigation paralegal, ideally within intellectual property or complex commercial litigation.
- Familiarity with court rules, e-filing systems, and litigation procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a high level of accuracy and organization.
- Ability to work on-site full time, manage deadlines, and collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff.
- Paralegal certificate or relevant degree, or equivalent experience in a law firm setting.
- Proficiency with standard office software and legal practice management or document management systems.
