Position Summary
Provide therapeutic recreational activities for all residential patients. Provide continuity of program services in an ethical, legal and moral manner within a safe environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Participate as a team member in the delivery of services to patients and their families.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Art Therapy, or other related therapies
- Must qualify as a MHP per Illinois Department of Mental Health Rule 132
- Holds CTRS or other approved recognized discipline- specific credential or eligible to obtain within 2 years
- Experience in experiential therapies and/or behavioral health setting preferred
- Must be emotionally and medically able to perform essential job responsibilities
- Ability to transport clients to off-site recreational areas
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
- Must have own transportation and the ability to travel within the community to engage with clients in their preferred settings
Responsibilities:
1.Work hours prescribed by leadership and any additional hours deemed necessary for theresponsibilities assigned.
2.Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates group experiential therapy programming in designatedtreatment programs under direct clinical supervision.
3.Completes documentation in the client record within prescribed time frame.
4.Implement therapeutic activities into individual and group sessions and monitor progress.
5.Assess new client’s skills and abilities, tailoring recreation to individual’s circumstances and abilities.
6.Observe, analyze, and record patients' participation, reactions, and progress during therapeuticsessions, modifying activities as needed.
7.Transport clients to off-campus recreational events.
8.Participates with interdisciplinary clinical staffing and contributes to the client treatment plan.
9.Provides leadership in planning and implementing recovery enhancement and recreational activities.
10.Conduct staff education/trainings on the role of experiential therapies.
11.Attends mandated facility training.
12.Provides courteous, high-quality service to Rosecrance employees, representative of outsideagencies and members of the public by providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information, in acourteous, efficient and timely manner.
13.Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by management.
14.Understand and comply with all the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate ComplianceProgram and Code of Conduct.
15.Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
Schedule:
- Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 8:30am-5:00pm(40 hours per week)
Work Location: Onsite-Rosecrance Moreland Office Champaign, IL
Compensation:
- Base Pay: Starting at $50,835.20/year (pay is based on education, experience, and credentials)
