What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Coordinator position at Careers?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Process and manage incident reports and documentation
- Serve as lead for all compliance inspections (OSHA, Fire, EPA, etc.)
- Investigate accidents and determine countermeasures.
- Maintain OSHA recordkeeping requirements and safety training records.
- Coordinate compliance tests including Medical Clearance, Hearing Tests, Air and Noise monitoring.
- Order safety supplies and provide appropriate PPE to employees.
- Generate monthly accident and safety assessment reports.
- Conduct safety training classes.
- Lead the Safety Committee.
- Assist with new employee orientation training.
- Issue disciplinary warnings and counsel employees.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Environment, Health, and Safety or equivalent experience preferred, but not required; CSP preferred, but not required.
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or certification preferred, but not required.
- Workers Compensation knowledge and work experience preferred, but not required.
