Job Title: Chief Nursing Officer

Job Type: Full Time Permanent
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Schedule: 5 days/week, 7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week, No weekends, No on-call
Salary Range: $295k- $350k
Schedule Notes:
- 8 years of nursing experience, including 6 years in management
- No relocation package available
- Candidates with a pending New York State license will be considered
- Proven track record achieving Magnet status
- Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or related field required
- Experience in union environments and managing structural or departmental change
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills
- At least 6 years in healthcare leadership, ideally in large or complex hospital settings
- Only submit candidates with prior CNO experience

Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of nursing experience
- Minimum 6 years in administration or management
- Prior experience as a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
- Strong leadership experience in large or complex hospital environments
- Experience in strategic planning, operational management, and performance improvement
- Experience working in union environments
- Strong knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and healthcare standards
Education
- Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or related field
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Certifications & Licensure
- Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license and current registration (pending license acceptable)
Job Summary
- Provides executive leadership for nursing operations under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, with a reporting relationship to the health system’s Chief Nursing Executive
- Responsible for development and implementation of facility-wide nursing education programs, operational standards, policies, procedures, and strategies
- Oversees programs to monitor, evaluate, and improve quality of patient care
- Ensures optimal utilization of resources, safe patient care, and compliance with all applicable regulations and standards
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day nursing operations and execution of strategic nursing management plans
- Lead clinical and operational performance improvement initiatives aligned with system-wide goals
- Present evidence-based recommendations and drive improvements in nursing practices and staff engagement
- Collaborate with executive leadership, medical staff, and departments to implement clinical integration strategies
- Direct nursing education, training programs, and workforce development initiatives
- Oversee recruitment, retention, credentialing, and evaluation of nursing staff
- Develop and maintain union partnerships and communication frameworks
- Represent nursing leadership across executive and organizational forums
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and accreditation requirements
- Lead planning and execution of staffing, operational, and capital budgets
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure coordinated and effective patient care delivery
- Perform other duties as required
