The opportunity
We’re hiring an Accounts Payable Coordinator to support suppliers, corporations, and other entities within our Accounting and Finance Team. Are you curious about infrastructure? As an Accounts Payable Coordinator, we'll rely on your timeliness and precision to process expense claims, travel reimbursements, subcontractor invoices and other accounting transactions related to accounts payable management and payment processing.

Your responsibilities
Under the guidance of our Director of Finance you will:
- Process invoices and employee expense claims
- Assist with payment processing
- Review company bills for discrepancies and investigate payment problems.
- Audit accounts to ensure timeliness of payments.
- Use computer systems to run databases and pay bills
- Liaise with auditors and act as a lead during audit processes
- Update contracts under negotiation and budgets in Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records
- Administrate vendor file reconciliations responding to project manager inquiries
- Respond to vendor inquiries
- Support the maintenance of filing and record systems
- Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends

What you bring to the team
- Bachelor's or college degree in accounting
- At least 2 years of experience dealing with accounts payable
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements, payment regulations and fair credit practices.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate, post, correct and manger accounting figures and financial records.
- High level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions
- Ability to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to learn new software (Deltek Vantagepoint)
- Critical and logical thinking
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and collaborate
- The legal right to work in Canada
