Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR ~ without more than normal supervision. Perform common Engineering Equipment Operator duties. Operate and maintain heavy equipment to include: bulldozers, loaders, dump trucks, excavators, backhoes, etc. Interpret an operator manual to determine maintenance requirements. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

- Work is completed in tiring and uncomfortable positions for long periods of time. Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, climbing, crouching and straining in awkward positions. Heavy physical effort is used to reach, pull, push, turn, and move requiring coordination of hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls for all types of equipment.
- Work is performed inside and outside in all types of weather (e.g., hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.). Employee is exposed to a variety of pests and insects with the possibility of bites. Employee is subject to unpleasant odors, blowing dust, high noise levels and vibrations. Employee is subject to overturning equipment, electric shocks, strain from lifting, broken bones, cuts, bruises and falls from ladders. Work is sometimes in close quarters and near moving machinery and occasionally in high traffic areas. Required to operate vehicles in all types of traffic and weather on public roads, being exposed to the danger of serious accidents.
