Behavioral Health Manager

Careers @Evidence-Based Associates
Bronx, NY Full Time
POSTED ON 4/3/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/2/2026
Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Behavioral Health Manager serves as a practice leader and staff coach, strengthening Atlas HOPE staff's engagement with participants, their response to crises, and their application of evidence-informed behavioral strategies in real-world settings.

This is not a clinical caseload position. Instead, the Behavioral Health Practice Manager partners closely with Coaches and program leadership to observe practice, provide feedback, deliver training, and support consistent, trauma-informed engagement across the program. The role requires strong familiarity with behavioral change interventions, crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies, and the ability to translate theory into practical, staff-ready tools.

The Behavioral Health Manager adheres to the program model prescribed by United Way of New York City and works collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting frontline staff who engage justice-involved youth and adults in structured, community-based programming, particularly within communities impacted by systemic inequities, violence, substance use, and criminal justice involvement. The ideal candidate will possess experience in stakeholder engagement, as collaboration with United Way of New York City and external partners is expected.

Salary Range: $72,000 to $78,000

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Coaching & Practice Support

  • Develop practical tools, guides, and refreshers that staff can use in daily program operations
  • Reinforce alignment with the Atlas HOPE program and expectations
  • Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, including confidentiality and respect for participant rights

Program Collaboration & Strategy

  • Collaborate closely with Outreach and Transitional Employment teams to support participants requiring higher levels of behavioral support
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions as a behavioral health resource (not as a clinical provider)
  • Foster a collaborative team culture that values learning, shared accountability, and proactive problem-solving
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders in meetings during which you will offer accurate programmatic reporting, clear communication, and ensure any necessary follow-ups are completed.
