AMG Specialty Call center is seeking a full time Medical Office Associate II to assist as a department trainer. The Department Trainer will support the onboarding of new hires and provide ongoing training to current team members. In this role, you will assist with new hire initial training, help reinforce department procedures and offer additional coaching to employees who need support. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for helping others succeed are essential. In addition, to provide support for various practices within AMG who are assigned to the call center. Call intake will include triaging calls to determine urgency of appointment, scheduling of appointment, input of demographic and insurance information and preliminary registration. Provide patients with appointment information including specialty specific instructions and explain any referral or prior authorization requirements. Offer friendly, courteous assistance to every patient to ensure that they have a positive, professional experience during every encounter.
Must successfully pass all required training. Includes, but not limited to: Electronic medical record training, patient experience training, AMG phone etiquette training, MyChart training and others as appropriate.
AMG Call Center hours of operation are 7:00am – 7:00pm Monday - Friday. Team member will be assigned to a 7.5-hour shift within those hours. Currently seeking Monday - Friday 9am-5pm at the Morristown, NJ corporate office. Team member will need to be flexible with assigned hours to allow adequate shift coverage for absences.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Train new hires and re-train current team members
- Promptly answer and handle phone calls in a professional and efficient manner; utilize appropriate telephone etiquette, providing every patient with exceptional customer service.
- Using specialty and/or practice specific scheduling guidelines to schedule, reschedule and cancel patient appointments, selecting appropriate visit type/length of visit; inputs initial demographic and insurance information.
- Accurately enters information into EMR; uses EMR for scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations, phone notes, referrals, outreach, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; knowledge of how to assist patients in a timely manner with concerns and/or complaints; ability to think critically and respond to the needs of patients appropriately.
- Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
