What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solutions Engineer position at Career Renew?
We need someone with a strong science background (chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering) and the soft skills to be the technical face of our sales team. You should be a gritty, curious, and confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced pre-sales environment — someone who takes ownership, figures things out independently, and delivers excellent work under pressure. An advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a chemistry or engineering-related field is strongly preferred, and bonus points if you have experience in digitalization at a major chemical or materials company, management consulting with a technical background, or software engineering.
What you'll do:
- Own the full technical pre-sales process — from first demo through business value case development, technical evaluation positioning, and pilot execution
- Architect and build custom demonstrations, workshops, and pilots on the platform tailored to each prospect's R&D workflows
- Partner closely with Account Executives and champion stakeholders to drive value-based selling and close net new revenue
- Lead technical evaluations and demo sessions, telling compelling stories about how we transform R&D data management and innovation
- Mentor and manage new grad team members who support you during technical evaluations
- Write scripts and configure integrations on the platform's integration server as needed to support custom prospect engagements
- Travel 25-50% to meet with prospects and deliver on-site presentations and workshops
