What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Designer-Columbus position at Career Opportunities?
• Provide leadership and direction to junior designers and work in collaborative teams
• Responsible for the production or supervision of conceptual and schematic level drawings, renderings, and diagrams.
• Direct development of innovative design concepts with project teams to produce constructable solutions.
• Responsible for exterior material research and selections and construction detailing to maintain design intent throughout the design process.
• Responsible for leading client-facing and internal design presentations and charrettes.
• Perform early programming and loading capacity studies.
• Interface and collaborate with interior designers and landscape designers for cohesive overall designs
• Work with internal and external visualization designers to produce best-in-class renderings and animations
• Help in the production of quality design awards both locally and nationally.
Qualifications
- Professional Degree and/or Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, or related field, and 8-10 years of experience in a project design role; licensure preferred.
- A strong portfolio highlighting professional work experience; strong ability to multitask and pivot quickly between projects; knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
- Proficiency in Rhino, Sketch-up, Test Fit, and other 3D modelling software; Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Revit, and AutoCAD, and sketching skills a plus
- LEED or WELL accreditation is a plus
- Excellent written verbal communication skills, client and consultant relationship management
