Position Overview

Career Links is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026–2027 school year. This school-based position will support students from Pre-K through 12th grade across one to two school buildings, providing direct speech and language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).

Position Summary

Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, the SLPA provides direct therapeutic services to students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders. The SLPA collaborates with educational teams to support student achievement and help students reach their highest level of functional communication within the school setting.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with the identification, screening, and evaluation process for students with speech and language needs
  • Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services in accordance with IEP goals and treatment plans
  • Develop and maintain therapy schedules across assigned school sites
  • Monitor, document, and report student progress toward established goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, special education staff, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, evaluation reviews, and other student support meetings as assigned
  • Assist with the implementation and use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and assistive technology
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential student records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
  • Communicate effectively with families and school personnel regarding student progress and needs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field
  • Current SLPA license or certification as required by the state of California
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and communication disorders in school-aged children
  • Familiarity with AAC devices and assistive technology
  • Understanding of special education laws, regulations, and IEP processes
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to professional growth, ethical practice, and student-centered services

Compensation

$50,000–$69,000 annually (paid year-round)

Additional compensation opportunities may include:
