Career Links is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide services to students in a PreK–8th grade educational setting. This unique opportunity offers a 4-day work week, allowing for excellent work-life balance while making a meaningful impact on students' educational and developmental success.
The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support students with a variety of physical, sensory, developmental, and educational needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and assessments for students in PreK through 8th grade.
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans and IEP goals.
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services within the school environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers to support student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, sensory supports, and environmental modifications.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and Medicaid billing as required.
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Occupational Therapist license through the New Mexico Regulation & Licensing Department (RLD).
- Current NBCOT certification.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain any required New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) school-based credentials.
- Ability to pass state, federal, and district background checks.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Previous school-based or pediatric occupational therapy experience.
- Experience working with students receiving special education services.
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
