We are seeking a compassionate and student-centered Bilingual School Social Worker to provide comprehensive social-emotional and behavioral support services to students, families, and staff. The School Social Worker will play a vital role in prevention, intervention, assessment, and collaboration to promote positive student outcomes and equitable access to education. Building site, bell schedule, and caseload will be determined during the interview process based on the candidate’s preference and district needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement as a School Social Worker.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Prevention

• Provide consultation, in-service training, and workshops for staff and parents.
• Support initiatives that promote positive school climate and student well-being.

Identification

• Participate in pre-referral processes, student support teams, and early intervention efforts.
• Conduct screenings and make referrals for evaluations as appropriate.

Assessment

• Gather and analyze data using standardized and non-standardized measures.
• Write comprehensive reports, interpret results, and share findings with staff and families.
• Determine eligibility for special education services and assist in developing IEPs.

Intervention

• Manage caseload and scheduling to provide timely and effective services.
• Deliver direct social-emotional and behavioral interventions within the school setting.
• Develop and monitor goals, document progress, and participate in annual IEP reviews.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for special education funding and compliance.

Collaboration and Environment

• Maintain student records and evaluations using the district’s web-based IEP system.
• Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with educators and support staff.
• Adapt to a busy, dynamic school environment—indoors or outdoors—with frequent interruptions.
• Attend meetings and professional development sessions as required.
