Audit Manager

We are partnering with an established public accounting firm seeking an Audit/Assurance Manager to join its team in Madison, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage audit and assurance engagements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable auditing standards.
• Analyze client financial records to identify accounting issues, assess risks, and develop appropriate solutions.
• Conduct technical accounting research and communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, developing an understanding of their businesses and financial needs.
• Communicate directly with clients, providing guidance on accounting, financial reporting, and related matters.
• Train, mentor, and manage team members, supporting their technical development and performance.
• Review audit work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with professional standards.
• Manage engagement deadlines and ensure client deliverables are completed efficiently.
• Contribute to business development initiatives by identifying and referring potential new clients.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of audit experience within a public accounting firm.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA certification preferred, or the ability and willingness to obtain certification.
• Strong technical knowledge of auditing, financial reporting, and accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.
• Experience mentoring or supervising team members.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines effectively.
