Financial Analyst

We're partnering with a growing organization to identify a Business Finance Analyst who enjoys combining accounting, financial analysis, and business partnership in a fast-paced environment. This is a highly visible role supporting the financial operations of a dynamic business unit, with responsibilities spanning month-end close, financial reporting, operational analysis, and process improvement.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with operations, solving problems, improving processes, and turning complex transactional data into meaningful financial insights.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Support the monthly close process, ensuring financial results are accurate, timely, and well supported.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, payroll, intercompany, and other recurring transactions.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and prepare supporting schedules for management reporting.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Support revenue recognition, expense tracking, and other core accounting activities.

Business Finance & Operational Support

• Analyze sales, margins, operating costs, and other key business metrics to support decision-making.
• Prepare recurring financial reports and dashboards for business leaders.
• Assist with billing, invoicing, expense management, and payment tracking.
• Partner with operations to validate financial data, monitor costs, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Support indirect tax reporting and compliance activities.
• Track vendor activity and help ensure timely processing of financial transactions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation, AI tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, or a related business role.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and working with large datasets.
• Experience analyzing high-volume transactional data and communicating findings to business partners.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Interest or experience using AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar) to improve efficiency and automate manual processes is a plus.
• CPA or progress toward certification is a plus

Preferred Experience

• Experience in high-volume, multi-location, retail, distribution, manufacturing, or other transaction-intensive environments.
• Exposure to sales and use tax reporting or multi-state compliance.
• Experience supporting operational business teams and partnering with non-finance stakeholders.
