Position Overview
The Controller will lead all core accounting functions while partnering closely with executive leadership and operations teams to support the company’s financial performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting background, experience within construction-related industries, and the ability to create scalable processes in a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all accounting operations across multiple entities
- Manage monthly close activities, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet and overall financial reporting
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff while helping build a strong, accountable team culture
- Oversee job costing processes, work-in-progress reporting, and project margin analysis
- Develop and implement improved accounting workflows, systems, and internal controls
- Reduce manual processes and help modernize financial operations and reporting capabilities
- Work closely with the CFO and operational leaders to provide meaningful financial analysis and business insights
- Support cash flow forecasting, debt tracking, and overall financial planning initiatives
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Strong experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and balance sheet management
- Background supporting multi-entity accounting structures
- Ability to work independently and bring organization and structure to a growing business
- Experience within construction, homebuilding, land development, or other project-driven industries
- Knowledge of job costing and WIP reporting concepts
Preferred Experience
- CPA and/or Master’s degree in Accounting preferred
- Experience with construction and project management systems such as MarkSystems, Procore, or similar platforms
