A Tier-1, publicly traded REIT is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Asset Management to oversee a rapidly growing portfolio of senior housing assets across a multi-operator platform. What You’ll Own:
Portfolio Performance & Value Creation
- Drive same-store NOI growth, margin expansion, and cash flow optimization across a senior housing portfolio
- Allocate capital toward highest-yielding opportunities including renovations, expansions, amenity upgrades, and repositionings
- Oversee major CapEx and transformation initiatives in partnership with operators and internal development/construction teams
- Evaluate ROI and ensure disciplined capital efficiency across the platform
Operator Governance & Platform Optimization
- Establish and maintain rigorous operator governance standards, performance reviews, budget approvals, and reporting frameworks
- Structure and negotiate incentive-aligned management agreements
- Lead operator transitions, onboarding, diligence, and stabilization
Strategic Portfolio Leadership
- Influence portfolio-wide strategy including expansions, dispositions, and repositioning opportunities
- Assess market supply/demand dynamics, competitive pressures, and senior housing fundamentals
- Partner with Investments and Capital Markets to support portfolio growth and enterprise capital strategy
Executive Reporting & Governance
- Present portfolio strategy, performance trends, and recommendations to executive leadership
- Ensure compliance across management agreements, JV structures, debt documents, and legal frameworks
- Build data-driven dashboards focused on occupancy, NOI, sales velocity, margin trends, and capital returns
Ideal Background:
- 8 years in asset management, portfolio management, real estate, investments, or related sectors
- Senior housing, healthcare real estate, hospitality, or adjacent operationally intensive asset classes strongly preferred
- Proven success driving NOI growth, strategic repositionings, and portfolio optimization
- Advanced financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and underwriting capabilities
- MBA, CFA, or comparable advanced designation strongly preferred
- Executive communication skills with ability to influence across leadership teams
