Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to manage our end-to-end billing operations. In this role, you will work closely with office staff, patients, and insurance providers (including Medicare and Medicaid) to ensure prompt billing and resolve account discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoicing & Billing: Calculate receivables, verify billing system entry, issue accurate invoices/statements, and monitor front office claim entries (offering support when needed).
- Claims & Account Resolution: Manage account balances, identify outstanding debts, and follow up directly on third-party insurance claims.
- Payment Processing: Receive and verify payments across multiple payment channels, update billing records, and issue payment reminders.
- Communication & Support: Answer patient billing queries, resolve complaints, maintain compliance with coding standards, and provide regular reporting to upper management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a medical billing clerk or in a medical administrative role
- High school diploma or equivalent (further education or certification preferred)
- Knowledge of medical coding standards and experience working with Medicare and Medicaid is a bonus.
- Strong numerical accuracy, communication skills, and customer service orientation
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
