- · Demonstrates the ability to apply therapeutic principles and practice; uses appropriate technical knowledge and clinical judgment in observing patient's reaction to treatments specific to the needs of the patient.
- Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
- Demonstrates ability to design treatment programs for patients with varying degrees/types of disabilities and multiple medical problems.
- Develops and implements therapy programs specific to each patient in accordance with the prescribed physician treatment.
- Demonstrates accuracy in performing patient evaluations; interprets results within scope of licensure.
- Demonstrates the ability to formulate realistic and appropriate short and long term treatment goals for patients.
- Exhibits ability to design treatment programs for patients with varying degrees/types of disabilities and multiple medical problems.
- Always reports significant alterations in patient's condition or behavior to Director and/or patient's physician.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform preparatory data gathering necessary to adequately evaluate the patient's needs prior to initial patient contact; reviews patient records; confers with the treating physician; collaborates with the nursing staff and other healthcare team members regarding each patient.
- Demonstrates the ability to use all equipment correctly and safely and provides maintenance.
- Demonstrates the ability to instruct patient/family in home treatment programs.
- Demonstrates the ability to instruct, assist and supervise patients in:
- Passive, active and/or resistive exercises
General conditioning
- Breathing exercises
- Back exercises
Able to demonstrate/describe knowledge of correct:
- Stump care
- Chest physical therapy (CPT)
- Use of electrical stimulation equipment
- Use of ultrasound equipment
- Body alignment/positioning techniques
- Strengthening exercises
- Balance training
- Range of motion evaluation and exercises
Gait Training:
- With contact guarding
- Without assistive device
- With assistive device
Transfer Techniques:
- Bed to chair (standard chair and wheelchair)
- Crutches
- Walker
- Ambulation with assistance
Physician Notification
- Documentation on Clinical Notes
- Performs specific treatments as per plan of care.
- Physical therapy services reflect compliance with accrediting organization, federal, state, HHA and reimbursement regulations.
- Visits are provided in compliance with frequency and duration ordered on the plan of care.
- Patients are notified of the visit schedule and any changes to the schedule.
- Documentation reflects patient collaboration and participation in the development of their plan of care.
- Requests for modification of orders or additional orders are made based on the patient's clinical status and skilled physical therapy judgments.
- All physician collaboration is documented in the medical record.
- Appropriate utilization of all available services is demonstrated and documented.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the HHA's Emergency Operations Plan.

Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour
