Duties
- Manage incoming patient inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Collect and verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and medical history accurately using patient management software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to schedule initial assessments and ensure timely onboarding of new patients
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA and other health regulation policies
- Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, appointment scheduling, and document preparation using Microsoft Office tools
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans, insurance requirements, and follow-up procedures
- Assist in verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, and explaining health insurance policies to patients
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all intake documentation complies with regulatory standards and internal protocols
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, health regulation policies, and electronic health records (EHR/EHR management systems) is essential
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook for administrative support tasks
- Experience handling patient management software or customer service roles within healthcare or dental office settings is advantageous
- Strong understanding of health insurance processes, including verification and authorization procedures
- Excellent phone communication skills paired with the ability to manage multiple client interactions efficiently
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality diligently while managing sensitive information accurately
