About the Role
The Transportation Driver transports residents in a company van or bus to and from appointments and other outside events and destinations as directed or scheduled and in a manner that assures resident safety and comfort. This position requires a dependable individual who can navigate various routes while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The driver will play a critical role in supporting operational logistics by maintaining vehicle condition and managing schedules. Effective communication with team members is vital to coordinate pickups and drop-offs smoothly. Ultimately, the driver contributes to the overall success of the organization by providing reliable transportation services that meet quality and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly to transport residents to designated locations.
- Consults appropriate departments daily to determine/confirm transportation needs and schedules.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal vehicle condition.
- Loads and unloads residents in a safe manner, according to written procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays.
- Keeps any records required to bill residents for transportation services and forwards to the business office.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type being operated.
- Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
- Ability to read maps and use GPS navigation systems.
- Physical ability to load and unload residents if required.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous professional driving experience in a similar role.
- Good customer service skills to interact professionally with clients.
