What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Cardiovascular Interventions?
Our cardiology office is currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant who can deliver exceptional patient care and provide excellent service to all visitors. We require someone with outstanding customer service skills, a professional demeanor, and a team-oriented approach. You must also be able to multitask while maintaining high levels of organization and professionalism at all times. While it's not mandatory, fluency in Spanish is preferred. Duties will include:
- Rooming patients
- Taking and/or obtaining vital signs
- EKGs,
- Set up a chart in EMR-Electronic Medical Records
- Holter and Event Monitors
- Prepare and organized exam rooms
- Stock and maintain rooms with adequate supplies
- Check patient's medical records for pertinent data
- Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms
- Maintain sample medication closet
- Respond to patient calls
- Assist with exams, tests, and special procedures as directed
- Scheduling appointments,
- Setup for procedures
- Assist providers with patient exams and procedures
- Callbacks,
- Prescription refills
- Prescription prior authorization
- Inspect exam rooms for cleanliness and equipment condition
The candidate must have the following skills and experience:
- At least 1-year experience in cardiac care
- MA Certification from an accredited school.
- X-Ray Tech with BMO Certificate is preferred, but not required.
- EMR experience required
- Well-organized and detail-oriented, while applying sound judgment and decision-making
- Team player attitude and willingness to make active contributions to the team
- EMD’s experience is preferred but not required
- Strong Computer and Typing Skills, including Word and Excel
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of regulations that govern Medical offices, including HIPAA and OSHA.
