What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - Restoration and Reconstruction position at Cardinal Restoration?
Job Overview
Cardinal Restoration is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee residential and commercial restoration and reconstruction projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in residential construction, remodeling, and project management, with the ability to manage projects from initial scope through final completion.
This role is responsible for overseeing project budgets, schedules, quality control, materials procurement, and the coordination of in-house crews and subcontractors. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, ensuring clear communication, a positive customer experience, and high-quality results throughout the restoration process.
While this is primarily a management and coordination role rather than a hands-on construction position, a strong working knowledge of all aspects of residential building and construction methods is essential. The Project Manager must be able to lead teams effectively, identify potential issues, maintain accountability, and ensure projects are completed within the approved scope, budget, and schedule.
Cardinal Restoration is a growing company offering an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the business while growing alongside the organization. A company vehicle will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Manage restoration and reconstruction projects from initial scope review through final completion, ensuring work meets established quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
- Oversee project scope, estimates, budgets, job costing, change orders, and cost control to maintain project profitability.
- Coordinate and manage in-house crews, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure work is completed efficiently and according to project requirements.
- Conduct regular job site visits to monitor progress, verify workmanship, identify issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety expectations.
- Manage material selections, purchasing, procurement, delivery schedules, and availability to keep projects moving without unnecessary delays.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, providing consistent updates, setting expectations, addressing concerns, and maintaining a professional customer experience.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including site progress, photographs, job notes, material selections, change orders, and project completion records.
- Review project scopes and plans to identify potential challenges, coordinate solutions, and communicate necessary adjustments to management, crews, and customers.
- Ensure projects remain organized, that quality issues are addressed promptly, and that completed work meets Cardinal Restoration's standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, communication, scheduling, and overall team performance.

- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building components, and sequencing of work across multiple trades.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate workmanship, identify deficiencies, and maintain quality control throughout a project.
- Experience with job costing, budget management, scope review, change orders, and cost control.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with insurance restoration, water damage restoration, fire damage restoration, or mold remediation is a plus.
