What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Surveyor position at Cardinal Points Surveying?
We're seeking a skilled Land Surveyor to join our team and play a pivotal role in our projects. As a Land Surveyor, you'll be involved in numerous tasks, including fieldwork, project scoping and estimating, Boundary Surveys (Right-of-Way and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys), Advanced Geodetic Surveys, Engineering Surveys (topographic mapping and Improvement location surveys), CDOT construction surveying, and managing projects and budgets. You'll work on a variety of interesting projects of all sizes across southern Colorado, using state-of-the-art Trimble surveying equipment and technologies. Our survey team is seasoned, experienced, and committed to quality and professionalism.
Duties:
- Conduct detailed land surveys to determine boundaries, topographical features, and other crucial data points.
- Utilize advanced GPS technology for precise data collection and mapping.
- Prepare detailed maps, sketches, and schematics using industry-leading CAD software.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and construction teams to interpret plans and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Perform complex calculations involving algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to support surveying activities.
- Draft legal documents related to property boundaries and survey findings.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Trimble, or similar software at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Strong knowledge and experience with GPS technology for surveying purposes.
- Ability to interpret and work from engineering plans with precision.
- Excellent data collection and analysis skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Familiarity with drafting legal descriptions and preparing comprehensive land survey reports.
- Experience with various survey tasks including project scoping and estimating, Boundary Surveys (Right-of-Way and ALTAs), Advanced Geodetic Surveys, Engineering Surveys (topographic mapping and Improvement location surveys), and CDOT construction surveying.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and budgets effectively.
