Cardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Security Officers who will facilitate a safe learning environment and keep students, staff, and faculty safe from violence.  This is part-time position is ideal for retired Police Officers or State Troopers looking to stay active.  

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Location: Leesport, PA

Schedule:

Week 1: Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM
Week 2: Tuesday & Thursday - 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM

This is a 10-month position, with 2 months off during the summer. Schedule includes regular school hours plus occasional after-school and weekend events.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador: Be on time. Look sharp in proper uniform. Be engaged. Be consistent
• Patrol school buildings, grounds, and surrounding areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Monitor and control access to school premises, ensuring that only authorized individuals are present.
• Conduct security checks of doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are properly secured.
• Respond to alarms and investigate suspicious activity.
• Enforce school rules, local ordinances, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Conduct preliminary investigations of crimes occurring on or near campus, including theft, vandalism, and assaults.
• Gather and document evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare incident reports.
• Work with local law enforcement agencies when needed.
• Maintain records of incidents and take appropriate action to prevent reoccurrences.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must possess prior law enforcement experience
• Five years of experience as an armed security officer
• Three years of experience as a security officer in a school setting
• Must possess a valid PA Act 235 Certification
• Must possess a valid PA Concealed Carry Permit
• Must possess your own firearm.
• Must be able to pass firearms qualification course.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Consent to a drug screen and completing criminal background investigation.
• Consent to obtain required clearances for working in school.
• No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
• Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access)
• Ability to comprehend and utilize the English Language (verbal and written)
• Reliable means of transportation
• Must possess a professional and courteous demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience as a Sworn Municipal, State, or Federal Police Officer OR Military MP, Military MA, Air Force Security Forces, OR Federal, State or Municipal Corrections Officer.
• Valid Driver’s License
