At CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services), our mission is to protect, empower, and promote independence for at‑risk children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities through high-quality, community-based services.

We are seeking an experienced, mission‑driven Assistant Director, DD Residential Services to join our leadership team! This is a key role for a passionate professional who is committed to ensuring that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive the highest standard of care, dignity, and support.

As the Assistant Director, you will oversee daily residential operations, guide Program Managers, and shape program quality and innovation across our DD services. Your leadership will directly support individuals in living more independent, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of assigned residential programs.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Program Managers and program staff to ensure excellence in service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, agency policies, and OPWDD standards.
  • Participate in screening, admissions, and discharge planning for residential programs.
  • Support departmental training and curriculum development to ensure meaningful staff learning.
  • Oversee billing, medical care coordination, training, data collection, community integration, and person‑centered planning.
  • Perform quality assurance tasks, including incident management and Medicaid documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison with families, staff, clinicians, hiring, payroll, and community partners.
  • Participate in interdepartmental meetings, DD Council, and DD-related groups.
  • Advocate for individuals, staff, and innovative approaches to residential care.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare submissions for internal committees when assigned.
  • Provide administrative on‑call coverage and step in for Program Managers when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold agency values at all times.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure programming promotes independence, dignity, choice, and social responsibility.
  • Monitor and evaluate program activities and staff performance through consistent observation.
  • Support individuals during crisis situations, including physical intervention when necessary.
  • Build meaningful partnerships with community providers to increase opportunities for individuals.
  • Maintain accurate reports, analyze outcomes, and contribute to continuous program improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Health or Human Services field (required).
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in DD residential program management (preferred)
  • Strong leadership, advocacy, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative, compassionate, and innovative approach to service delivery.
  • Working knowledge of OPWDD standards and person‑centered practices.

Additional Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable by agency and insurance standards
  • Ability to safely lift and assist up to 70 lbs, to support individuals' mobility, personal care, transfers, and emergency needs with care and dignity.

Salary : $77,500 - $78,500
