We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our continuous-operation float glass manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance support, and continuous improvement of plant equipment, systems, and processes. The Electrical Engineer plays a key role in improving safety, quality, reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency.

This position works closely with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams and may provide support to other facilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Support Manufacturing Operations
- Provide technical support for a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Maintain working knowledge of plant equipment, systems, and processes.
- Evaluate risks and make effective operational decisions.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues with a hands-on approach.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend support as needed.
- Collaborate with operators, technicians, and supervisors to identify improvement opportunities.
Troubleshoot and Support Equipment
- Investigate equipment failures and process disruptions.
- Work closely with Maintenance and Production teams to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical guidance during emergency repairs and critical equipment issues.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Lead Engineering Projects
- Manage capital and process improvement projects from concept through completion.
- Develop system requirements, engineering designs, and AutoCAD drawings.
- Prepare capital expenditure requests and project documentation.
- Coordinate equipment procurement, installation, and integration.
- Manage project schedules, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Training and Technical Development
- Develop operating procedures, preventive maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides.
- Train operators, supervisors, maintenance technicians, and engineers on equipment and systems.
- Support cross-training and workforce development initiatives.
- Mentor maintenance personnel and help expand technical capabilities across the plant.
Quality and Process Support
- Support quality-critical equipment and systems, including inspection, cutting, handling, and process control equipment.
