What are the responsibilities and job description for the ENGINEER/SCIENTIST position at CARDEROCK DIV NS?
You will serve as a Data Science & Analytics Lab Director in the NSWCCD's data science and analytics (DSA) laboratory of CARDEROCK DIV NS.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band ND-4 (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or Scientist leading and executing data science and analytics projects through engaging customers to define projects, incorporate and apply innovative technologies to solve complex problems through staying abreast of emerging technology, and mentoring and training staff and workforce.

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a General Engineer (0801-series), a Mechanical Engineer (0830 series), a Materials Engineer (0806-series), a Computer Scientist (1550-series), or a Data Scientist (1560-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate.
