What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Representative - Civil Construction position at CARCON Industries & Construction?
We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Representative to join our team. This role is key to maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment while promoting a strong safety culture across all project phases.
The ideal candidate has a hands-on background in construction safety, with experience in high-security or airfield environments or civil. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to ensure every aspect of the job meets the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce compliance with OSHA, FAA, DOT, and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily site inspections, hazard assessments, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead and document toolbox talks, safety meetings, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Investigate and document accidents/incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and implement improvements.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and training logs.
- Provide ongoing safety training and coaching to field staff and subcontractors.
- Support emergency response planning, drills, and continuous safety program enhancements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 2–4 years of construction safety experience (airfield or heavy civil preferred).
- Certifications:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
- CPR/First Aid, CHST, or EM 385-1-1 certifications preferred.
- Knowledge:
- FAA and DOT safety requirements, confined space, fall protection, and heavy equipment safety.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
