THE ROLE
Carbone Fine Food is looking for an Inventory Specialist to own the inventory accounting function and support the broader finance and operations teams. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records across multiple co-packing partners and warehouse locations, reconciling physical and system inventory on a regular cadence, and investigating and resolving variances. The right candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable working in NetSuite, and brings a strong understanding of inventory flows in a CPG environment. This is a fully remote role with a preference for candidates based in the tri-state NYC area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own the end-to-end inventory management process, including receipt, transfers, builds, adjustments, and reconciliation
• Maintain accurate perpetual inventory records in NetSuite across all warehouse and co-packer locations
• Reconcile book-to-physical inventory on a weekly and monthly basis, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Coordinate with co-packing partners and third-party warehouses to validate inventory counts, shipment receipts, and production output
• Process inventory builds and assemblies, ensuring accurate BOM consumption and finished goods recognition
• Perform and support periodic physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and year-end inventory procedures
• Analyze inventory variances (shrink, yield loss, damaged goods) and prepare summary reports for management
• Support month-end close activities related to inventory valuation, COGS, and reserve calculations
• Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and assist in developing reserve recommendations
• Ensure all inventory transactions are properly documented with supporting backup
• Assist with audit fieldwork related to inventory, including confirmation and testing support
• Assist with ad hoc projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS
• 3-5 years of inventory accounting or inventory management experience
• CPG experience in food and beverage preferred (2 years)
• NetSuite experience required (2 years)
• Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or third-party logistics platforms is a plus
• Solid understanding of inventory valuation methods, BOM structures, and COGS flows
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and communication skills
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a small-team environment

Compensation: Base pay for this role will be $60,000 - $70,000 annually and will be offered depending on job-related skills and experience. This role is bonus-eligible.
