Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and personable Server for our Fine Dining establishment. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest experiences through attentive service, expert knowledge of our menu, and a polished presentation. This role requires a strong background in food service and hospitality, with an emphasis on fine dining standards. The Server will be responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction from greeting to farewell, maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation, and contributing to the overall atmosphere of elegance and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, providing excellent guest relations.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards.
- Ensure timely delivery of orders, check in with guests throughout their dining experience, and address any special requests or concerns promptly.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems, process payments, and provide correct change.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, service stations, and dining areas including bussing tables as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service flow and uphold food safety standards.
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleaning duties during shifts to uphold sanitation regulations.
- Support other team members as needed in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments with a strong understanding of food service protocols.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable; prior experience with Food industry POS systems is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations.
- Ability to upsell menu items effectively while maintaining genuine guest relations.
- Exceptional time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Basic math skills for cashiering and transaction processing.
- Experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess or bartender is advantageous.
