Job Summary

Carats Fine Jewelry and Watches is a small family owned business.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Part Time Jewelry Polisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for polishing jewelry pieces to meet quality standards, ensuring a high level of craftsmanship. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with various tools and techniques to polish jewelry products. Ideal candidates must be very detailed oriented, patient, possessing strong organizational skills and can work under pressure to meet deadlines and customer expectations.

The position is part-time with an average of 15-25 hours per week. Compensation is hourly and is paid weekly.

Duties

• Use hand tools and power tools to polish and finish jewelry pieces according to specifications
• Inspect jewelry for quality, ensuring all pieces meet the company's standards before packaging
• Operate equipment safely within a manufacturing facility setting
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure safety and efficiency
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during all tasks
• Maintain organization by ensuring each piece of jewelry is correctly placed into the designated job bag.
• Change watch batteries and perform minor jewelry repairs

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge related to jewelry polishing equipment and tools
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, polishing wheels and ultrasonic cleaning machines.
• Familiarity with factory procedures and safety standards in a manufacturing facility
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Basic understanding of jewelry assembly and finishing techniques is desirable

Qualifications

• Previous experience in jewelry or a related field is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality work
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and ensure accurate job tracking
• A team oriented mindset with effective communication skills
• Valid driver's license to operate a company vehicle is required
• High School Diploma
