What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineering Intern position at Captus.ai?
Company Description
The US construction industry loses $220 billion a year because nobody has built an AI that actually understands how a project runs. We're building it. You'll help teach it.
Role Description
Half the role is data. You'll curate the ontology our models reason over: drawings, specs, RFIs,
submittals, change orders, the whole document graph. You'll define what a "delta" means across a
revision set and QA agent outputs against ground truth so we know when the model is confidently
wrong.
The other half is our design partnerships. You will live and breathe our customers' projects and help us guide our internal technical team towards alignment between everyone involved.
Background
We're open on background. Undergrad in civil engineering, master's in construction management, or three years into your EIT, all fair game. What we need is someone who has stood on a job site or
is itching to, and can translate what happens there into structured reasoning a model can use.
· Knowledge of how a commercial project actually runs (scheduling, submittals, RFIs, change
orders, field to office flow).
· Willingness to learn AI tooling fast. We'll teach you.
· Strong writing. A messy thinker will wreck a training set.
· Opinions, and the ability to articulate them clearly in a fast-moving environment.
· Path to FTE position based on performance.
