Responsibilities
- Operate an SSQ portable roll-forming machine to manufacture standing seam metal roofing and wall panels.
- Load and position metal coils (steel, aluminum, or copper) onto the decoiler.
- Set up machine parameters for panel profile, width, and length according to project specifications.
- Able to drive multiple hours to different job-sites
- Complete supplier runs for each project
- Monitor the roll-forming process to ensure accurate panel dimensions and quality.
- Operate hydraulic shear to cut finished panels to required lengths.
- Inspect finished panels for defects, scratches, and dimensional accuracy.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and safety inspections.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area while following OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Coordinate with installation / production crews to ensure timely production and delivery of panels.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major mechanical problems to maintenance. The SSQ machine uses hydraulic drive rollers and a hydraulic shear to form and cut metal roofing panels on-site.
Experience:
- Operating SSQ or other portable roll-forming machines.
- Ability to read blueprints and production specifications.
- Knowledge of standing seam roofing systems.
- Familiarity with hydraulic equipment and basic machine maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift and handle metal coils and finished panels.
