Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and motivated Shift Leaders to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. As a Shift Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant during your shift. You will be responsible for overseeing staff, managing daily operations, and providing exceptional customer service while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Train, develop, and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed to support kitchen staff.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving complaints promptly.
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, staffing needs, and operational improvements.
- Conduct interviews for potential new hires and participate in the hiring process.
- Lead by example in maintaining a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience in quick service or fast food restaurants is preferred.
- Background in fine dining or casual dining establishments is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices.
- Experience with inventory control and managing restaurant operations.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in team management and training & development.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems.
- Culinary experience or kitchen management background is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality management.
