The ideal candidate will bring a strong litigation background in employment law, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing high-level support on complex federal and state employment matters. Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all phases of federal and state employment litigation, from case inception through resolution and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research involving federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and case precedent.
- Draft, prepare, and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Manage litigation case files, maintain deadlines, organize discovery materials, and monitor case progression to ensure compliance with court and procedural deadlines.
- Navigate and conduct case research using PACER and other legal research platforms.
- Assist with matters involving EEOC, South Carolina Human Affairs Commission, and other employment-related administrative proceedings, including monitoring filing deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Perform factual investigations by gathering, reviewing, and analyzing records, documents, and evidence related to employment claims.
- Coordinate and manage client communications, including scheduling meetings, interviews, and attorney-client conferences.
- Prepare trial binders, deposition binders, exhibits, witness files, and other trial preparation materials.
- Summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, personnel records, and other case-related documents for attorney review.
- File pleadings and legal documents electronically with courts and administrative agencies.
- Assist with discovery management, document production, and organization of evidentiary materials.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employment-related legal matters.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working as a Paralegal in an employment law environment is required.
- 3β5 years of Employment Paralegal experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience handling federal and state employment litigation matters.
- Strong familiarity with administrative proceedings involving the EEOC, South Carolina Human Affairs Commission, and agencies.
- Proficiency in PACER and legal research tools.
- Excellent drafting skills with experience preparing litigation-related legal documents.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery processes, and court filing requirements.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume workload and competing deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple attorneys in a fast-paced, team-oriented, on-site legal environment.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
